What do you think about the City’s snow removal?According to a report that will be presented to City Council on Monday, city staff believe they are providing a high level and efficient service for the winer conditions that we face. The report requested information from 9 different northern communities in BC.  All of the communities utilize plow trucks and graders with crews being dispatched when snow levels reach 5 cm in most municipalities or 18 cm on the high end in Dawson Creek. – Advertisement -One of the main complaints the city receives are the windrows left across residential driveways.  In all of the other surveyed cities the policy is the same as Fort St. John, windrows are left for the resident to remove. As for windrows that are created on main roads, they are hauled off once they have been created.  In Dawson Creek the city budgets to remove these windrows only 3 times a year. Mayor and Council will be able to respond to this report Monday night.  Attached at the bottom of this news story is a the full report from City Administration.Advertisementlast_img
