The film, which released on Independence Day, crossed the Rs 70-crore mark within five days of its release.Despite a fall in numbers over the weekend, it has still struck gold and entered the Rs 100-crore club. The film’s total collection stands at Rs 100.45 crore. This is Akshay’s ninth film that has crossed Rs 100 crore.Directed by Reema Kagti, Gold revolves around independent India’s first Olympic gold win – a feat achieved by the Indian men’s hockey team in 1948 at the 14th London Olympiad.
